Founded in 2001 and run from a home office, the business provides a venue finding service to its clients, earning revenue on a commission basis from the hotels / venues. The service is free of charge to clients and since it both saves them time and allows them to access better rates, there is little incentive not to re-book annual events and hence there is significant levels of repeat business.
The service is venue finding only, not event management, focusing purely on the venue search. All contractual and financial agreements are between venue and client, therefore eliminating contractual or financial risk.
Over the last 4 years, family care commitments mean that the business has been run in ‘tick over’ mode, working a couple of hours per day satisfying annual repeat bookings from longstanding clients but not developing new business. Even at this low ebb, it generates a comfortable lifestyle income of c. £25k per annum. Working in the business full time a new owner can expect to substantially increase turnover and profitability.
